Effect of Bulk/Nano ZnO and Methyl Red Dye Finishing Treatment on the Textile Materials for Protective Clothing

Abstract

The aim of the research was to explore the effect of methyl red dye, bulk/nano ZnO and methyl red dye with bulk/nano ZnO on electrical and thermal property of commercially available textile samples. Nano ZnO was synthesized by polyol method and characterized. For determining electrical resistance, a measuring device based on the measurement of direct current through textile samples was developed. Our result shows that; aramid materials coated by methyl red with nano ZnO prove to have better antistatic and antiflammable property.
