The Optoelectronic properties of thin films of Lead Phthalocyanine (PbPc) on glass and KCl substrates were prepared by Vacuum deposition. The thickness of the films was 150 nm. Thin films of Lead Phthalocyanine in both substrates have been studied. The orientation of molecular planes in the PbPc films on the glass and KCl substrates are perpendicular and parallel to the substrate surface respectively, in X-ray diffraction measurement. The Current-Voltage characteristics were measured under dark and illumination conditions at the temperature of 30°C using a double beam spectrometer. For illuminating, light of 100 W halogen lamps was used and focused on the sample. The light intensity varied from 0 to 1 mW/cm2 and applied voltage from -30 V to 30 V. The conductivity of PbPc on the glass substrate is around 20 times larger than KCl substrate. The difference in the electrical property of PbPc between the glass and KCl substrate is caused by the orientation of the molecular planes in the films, which is due to their one dimensional conductivity nature of Pb ions.
