In this paper, we consider the elastic half space whose free surface is an elastic surface capable of supporting its own stress field. This surface stress is a function of surface strain and it is related to the stress in the interior of the body by a nonclassical boundary condition. We here study, the propagation of Love waves with in the frame work of Eringen's nonlocal theory of elasticity. We show that the presence of nonlocality results into discrepancy with regard to the variation of velocity versus wave number.
