The health indicators in Kerala are at par with the western world. Kerala has better health indicators such as Crude Death Rate, Infant Mortality rate and Expectancy on of Life at Birth than most States in India. The present study focussed the spatial distribution of communicable disease in the period of 2006- 2012. In Kerala, only eleven diseases are selected for the present study on the basis of their consistent distribution and relative dominance in different periods. For the purpose the disease concentration and distribution disease ranking coefficient disease are identified and categorized based on their intensity. Ranking coefficient values of three distinct intensity classes (1) High disease intensity region (2) Medium disease intensity region (3) Low disease intensity region. The first category cover three districts namely Thiruvanathapuram, Idukki and Kozhikkode while second category cover ten districts. The third category comprises only one district i.e. in Alappuzha. In the highland region and the coastal areas communicable disease are highly observed due to the land use changes and the plantation agriculture.
