Being spurred by the dichotomy between the rich and the poor citizens of Zimbabwe, this study addressed causes of failure to bring about equality among the people. This study unearthed glaring differences in resource(s) between school types. It was found that to a large extent, the existence of these differences in endowment perpetuates the inequalities in society. Disparities in socio-economic conditions were found to explain why majorities remained trapped in the vicious circle of poverty. The education system was found to provide limited socio-economic mobility to its citizens. A descriptive survey was used to collect data. Discussions and conclusions based on the data were presented and interpreted. Recommendations as to how the research problem can best be addressed were also presented right at the end.
