Abstract

Thus through the history of Coastal Andhradesa Dharanikota became a place of much attraction for Ttraders, Religious Acharyas, Political invaders and the Armies on the defense. Although it remained to be the seat of a feudatory family for several centuries it could retain Urban character till as late as the nineteenth centuries. When it was made the seat of the Zamindar of Chintapalli named Vasireddi Venkatadrinayudu, who founded the modern town of Amaravati.
