The State of Jammu and Kashmir has greater potential to become one of the best adventure tourism destinations in the world. It offers wonderful exotic Himalayan ranges and landscapes, fast & furious rivers, breathe taking valleys, forests and challenging activities. Adventure tourism is at its initial stage in Jammu & Kashmir and virgin areas needs to be explored and develop which in result will increase tourist arrivals, business opportunities and economy of the valley. Sport fishing is an important part of adventure tourism. Kashmir is known as angler's paradise which provides many opportunities for anglers with its varied types of fishes especially trout and mahseer. Recreational fisheries is an important component of the adventure tourism industry and an important component of local and regional development around the world. J&K has one of the most favored angling sites in the world. The sport of angling can further become a popular recreational activity among the locals, tourists and professional anglers if the government, tourism and fisheries departments adopt a proper and planed work culture and attitude, the countries of west have adopted and if given the due attention and care from the all concerned this angling activity can prove money spinning activity.
