Who bonds on social media? the correlation of users' personality and social media use

Abstract

Social Medias are quickly becoming one the most popular tools for social interaction and information exchange. Previous studies have shown a relationship between user's personality and use of social Media. Using 100 of adults (Age above 18) as a sample, this study investigated whether personality (Neuroticism, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Openness to experience) correlates with use of social media. Findings revealed that, positive correlation between Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to experience and use of social media. Also found that no significant relationship between Conscientiousness, Agreeeablness and social media use by supporting the literature.
