Telecommunication sector has a vital role in overall development of Indian telecom market. Starting from the conventional PSTN (Public Switched Telephone network) Telecommunication Industry has witnessed the gradual development of the telecom services with continuous upgrades. Not only technological upgrade but the upgrades are in terms of the methods of operations, Human resource management as well. Human Resource Management in Indian telecommunication Industry includes management of resources in most efficient way. The main focus of Human resource department is to ensure efficiency with effectiveness. The telecommunication industry comprises of different departments which generally include Sales, Marketing, Network Implementation and operations and Customer Services. Outsourcing of the day to day technical operations activities is mostly preferred by the telecom operators. This outsourcing has positive as well as negative impact on the overall performance of the organization. This paper focuses on the impact of manpower outsourcing for technical operations in telecommunication industry in India highlighting the advantages of outsourcing operations and also management of negative impacts if any.
