Abstract

The way people feel about their bodies is indicative of cultural ideology, social reactions and personal activities. Clothing is perceived differently by individuals in relation in body image. Our bodies and our perception represent an important part of our sociocultural heritage. Physical ideas vary from culture to culture and from one historic era to the next, but in most cultures and periods of time it is clear that humans strive to improve nature. In fact there is a close relation between physical ideals and apparel styles because we are accustomed to seeing the body in clothed state. However, important differences between male and female physical ideas still exist.
