Assistant Professor,
This paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of tenses between the Arabic and the English languages. The objective is to make a foreign language comprehension easier for the local native speakers with respect to comparison to linguistics and grammatical aspects of each other's language. This analysis deals with the Arabic tenses and their meanings through their use and function while at the same time trying to define some other related terms. The second chapter rejects the general assumption that the Arabic tenses have distributional roles and express the ideas of philosophical meanings of time. The research ends by discussing the tense system as a unit by itself in Arabic as compared to the English Language.
