J.K. Paper Mills contributes towards society in a large scale-A case study

Abstract

This paper attempts to propose a conceptual study in corporate social responsibility activities by JK Paper Mills Ltd. As per Companies Act 2013, at least 2% of the average net profit of a company has to be spent on CSR activities if the net worth of the company is 500 crore or more. So, this study is an endeavour to know what type of CSR activities are done by JK Paper Mills and weather the company follows Companies Act 2013 or not. JK Papers is highly damaging the surrounding area by polluted gas and water extracts. This has to be compensated through CSR activities. In this study, the CSR Department of the company and the surrounding villages are visited by the researcher to know the facts. The annual CSR reports of last 5 years of the company also are a great help for the study. The results of the study reveal that, the company has a huge contribution towards the well being of people of JK pur and the surrounding periphery villages. JK Paper Mills has a separate CSR department which constantly works for the benefits of the surrounding people.
