Industrialization and fragmentation in indian cities a case of Mysore city

Industrial developments have been taking place slowly in the suburbs of Indian cities from the beginning of 21st century causing suburbanization. The proliferation of multinational and transnational companies and factories encouraged the privatization of suburban land resulting in exclusion with in the city. It can be seen that Indian suburbs are fragmented spatially and socially due to these industrial growth. Developments taking place in the suburbs are marginalizing the existing agrarian rural communities generating a poor quality of living condition. Mysore city is such a case and the study is focusedon the development of a marginalized rural village in the Mysore city suburbs by studying the issues and arriving at some generic guidelines for tackling such issues.
