Abstract

Motivation and Job Satisfaction are two critical and exhaustively discussed topics in Organizational behavior. A plethora of research has been conducted involving these two factors, a major portion of which has been empirical in nature. Most of the results of such research attempts have proven motivation and job satisfaction as main contributing factors towards effectiveness and efficiency of a business organization. Although a large portion of the research conducted has resulted in finding a positive relationship between Motivation and Job Satisfaction, as well as establishing a number of complementary relationships between Motivation, Job Satisfaction, and other organizational variables. However, drawing a conclusion, based on available data and information that Job Satisfaction equals to Motivation or vice versa is in our view erroneous and ill-advised. As such, this article suggests separate treatments for the two, Motivation and Job Satisfaction. And attempting to identify factors that fall under these two headings and discussing their impact on the overall efficacy of an organization.
