Teacher counsellors professional training on effectiveness of guidance and councelling services offered in secondary schools in mumias subcounty, Kenya

This study sought to determine the influence of teacher counselors’ training on effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in secondary schools in Mumias sub-County. The research questions were: which areas of guidance and counseling services are offered to students in secondary schools in Mumias sub-County; what are the professional training levels of teacher counselors in guidance and counseling departments in secondary schools in Mumias sub-County; which professional skills does the teacher counselor use on the students in schools in Mumias sub-County; and, how do students view the effectiveness of the counseling services provided by their teacher counselors in Mumias sub-County? All the questionnaires given out to students and teacher counselors were filled and returned yielding a response rate of 100%. Both primary and secondary sources of data proved to be effective for this study.
