Abstract

The current study to the addiction and self-esteem in college students.10 research papers were reviewed to find out the relationship and it found that due to addiction people self-esteem goes low that is negatively impact on college students Even if people who have high self-esteem when they begin using the substances, they will fall further and further into addiction. From Maximum research papers e has college student has got lower self-esteem but Greenberg JL, Lewis SE, Dodd DK (1998) has got higher self-esteem. Mainly boys are get attracted towards smoking, gambling, drinking, and all but women are mainly got attracted by caffeine and chocolates. Recently research of attachment style, Emotional style with and without substance abuse (sharma, 2016) people who did not abuse substances showed secure attachment pattern, high emotional stability and high self-esteem as compared to participates who abuse substances. No significant differences were seen in the self-esteem of males and females.
