Abstract

The status of women is a clear indicator of the condition of a nation. India has been considered as a male dominated society which resulted in a bundle of social problems for the women. Despite all the social hurdles, India is filled with the success stories of women. They have been through a long way to achieve equal rights and stand different from the crowd and are recognized for their achievements in the whole world. The present study endeavors the concept of women entrepreneur-challenges being faced by them, suggestions to overcome the challenges, various policy decisions and schemes launched including micro-finance for the empowerment of women entrepreneurs so that objective of sustainable and equitable growth and development can be achieved.
