Out of the fundamental areas of management, Human Resource Management is adjudged as the most important area. In the management of four M's. Money, Materials, Machines and Men-it is needless to believe, the obvious point, that considering the nature of men. Therefore, in essence we can assert that human resource alone can take care of goals of an enterprise. If a company is economically successful, it means, the management is able to manage human resource successfully. Managing human resources does not mean maintain productivity of human beings but also to maintain high degree of morale and satisfaction of those concerned with it. The main object of this paper is to study Human Resource Practices in selected Manufacturing industries in Baramati MIDC. The sample companies for the study are Bharat Forge ltd, PIAGGIO Vechicles Pvt Ltd., Schriber Dynamix Dairy, Imsofer Ferroro Ltd, ISMT Ltd, Baramati. The main sources of data for the study consist of both primary and secondary sources. The major findings of this study are major problems faced of HR Personnel in Manufacturing industry are recruitment and retention, training challenges, career development and employee retention.
