Present study mainly focused to know the behavior and changing pattern of dietary energy intake of Madhya Pradesh. Growth trends of calories, protein and fat intake has also analysed in the study. Calorie intake was decreasing over the period of 1972–73 to 2009–10 rounds in the state, but in last round(68th) these trends turned reversible. The study argued that growth trends of calorie, protein and fat intake was higher than the national trends in rural areas of the Madhya Pradesh state. This was due to agricultural development. Madhya Pradesh was achieved a significant growth in agriculture sector. This has also found that main source nutrient intake was cereals, which continually loss its share in nutrient intake.
