Do chance events have any role in career decision making of undergraduate students?

The present study examined the role of chance events in career decision making among undergraduate students. A sample of 482 undergraduate students from government and private colleges of Chandigarh and Mohali were selected by using stratified random sampling technique. Data was collected using Career Decision Making Inventory (Singh, 2014) and Chance Events Inventory (developed and standardized by investigator). t-ratios were worked out to find the differences in mean scores of sample on the variables of career decision making and chance events. One-way ANOVA was employed to compare the undergraduates from Arts, Commerce and Sciences streams on the variables under study. Results indicate that career decision making and chance events of undergraduates are independent of sex, type of school and academic streams.
