Abstract

CCE is a new pattern of evaluation. CCE is about all round development of the student. It covers both scholastic and co-scholastic areas of learning. CCE refers to a system of school-based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of students’ development. The ‘continuous’ aspect of CCE takes care for continual and periodicity of evaluation. The comprehensive component of CCE takes care of assessment of all round development of the child's personality. It includes assessment in scholastic as well as co-scholastic aspects of the pupil's growth. Scholastic aspects include curricular areas or subject specific areas, whereas co-scholastic aspects include co-curricular and personal social qualities, interest, attitudes and values. Teachers are the pillar of our educational system. For the effective implementation of any policy or pattern, it is necessary that teachers should have proper knowledge of that policy. Data of 70 teachers is collected for this study. Finding shows that teachers know about CCE but they do not have proper knowledge of it. A proper training is required for teachers so that they can implement CCE effectively in their schools.
