However with the development of economy and the acceleration of urbanization process, the teenagers and young generation are becoming less and less enthusiastic about studying Uygur Twelve Muqam”. This article will state the real situation about the 1st singing competition of “Twelve Muqam”, the attitude of the successor of “Twelve Muqam” over this competition from Xinjang Uyghur, as well as the current and the future direction of the inherited work of muqam art.
