Abstract

Neobasiria, a new genus is being proposed in the subfamily Basirinae Andrassy, 1976 for reception of nematodes closely resembling the genera Basiria and Basiroides. From Basiria it differs mainly in having cylindrical basal oesophageal bulb, comparalively shorter tail, longer bursa and longer vulva-anus distance. From Basiroides it differs in having cylindrical basal oesophageal bulb, posteriorly located dorsal oesophageal gland opening and median oesophageal bulb.
