Different extraction and separation techniques for cysts of Heterodera species have been evaluated with respect to two soil type populations of H. avenae and one pot culture population of H. zeae. The effect of sample size and soil type on the recovery of cysts and the effect of the processing techniques on the emergence of larvae have been investigated also.
