A revised and comprehensive key to the species of genus Helicotylenchus Steiner, 1945 has been given. H. teres Gaur et Prasad (1973) and H. oscephalus Anderson, 1979 are considered synonyms of H. insignis Basir & Khan, 1964 and H. teleductus Anderson, 1974, respectively.
