Pathogenicity of pigeon-pea cyst nematode, Heterodera cajani Koshy, 1967 on some pulse crops
Abstract
Experiments on pathogenicity of Heterodera cajani Koshy, 1967 on cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.], black gram [V. mungo (L.) Hepper], moth bean [V. acontifolia (Jacq.) MarechalJ, and pigeon pea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Mill sp.] were conducted in screen house. Highly significant reductions in growth parameters of cowpea, pigeon pea and moth bean (except recorded at 100 larvae and above level per kg root length, fresh and dry root weights of moth level. No significant reduction in shoot growth recorded even at the highest incoulum (1,000 reduction in root growth parameters occurred at plant height in the latter) were of soil. Significant reduction in bean was observed at 10 inoculum parameters of black gram was larvae/pot). However, significant 100 larvae and above levels.
