Isolation and identification of nematoxins produced by Fusarium solani (mart) sacc.

Nematoxins present in the culture filtrate of Fusarium solani were isolated as colourless oil by liquid extraction using ethylacetate and fractionated into five components M₁-M₅. by preparative TLC. Among these M₁ alone constituted 80 per cent of the total and the nematoxicity was in the descending order: M₅, M₄, M₂, M₃ and M₁ Gas chromatograph-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analysis revealed M₁ to contain C₁₇-C₂₆ n-alkanes.
