Cysts of Heterodera zeae were exposed to five different concentrations of four systemic nematicides, aldicarb, carbofuran, oxamyl and phenamiphos, for five different time intervals. No emergence were recorded when cysts remained in nematicidal solutions. An increase in the chemical concentration from 62.5 to 500 μg/ml or increase in the exposure time from 3 to 15 days resulted in decreased emergence of larvae. Of the various chemicals tested phenami phos was most effective in suppressing larval emergence.
