Populations of Helicotylenchus dihysteru and Hoplolaimus inditus were selectively influenced by the three chemical weedicides, oxadizon, fluazifop and glyphosate. The first two suppressed H. dihystera as also weed growth but not H. indicus. Both the nematode species were directly influenced by stage of groundnut growth, free of weeds, with peak populations being attained around late flowering. Alongwith several monocot weeds, H. dihystera was either maintained or increased but never decreased.
