The effect of potossium stress on a host plant Hibiscus cannabinus infected by the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita was studied. Potassium deficiency inhibited the nematode activity with an increased root, shoot weight, sugar and protein content than the plant grown in excess potassium nutrient treatment, whereas excess level of potassium nutrient showed a marked increase on total protein content in the infected plant.
