Abstract

Three plant growth regulators each applied at 60 ppm and ammonium sulphate at 33.33 kg N/ha were used as nematostatic agents for nematode control in maize trial. The use of plant growth regulators also resulted in improved yield of maize over the control.

Correlation matrix studies between different yield parameters showed that there were high positive correlations between cob yield and number of seeds per cob; average cob weight and seed weight per cob. Low negative correlations were obtained between average number of seeds and stem borer's infestation.
