Abstract

Paractinolaimus indicus sp. n. is described and illustrated along with its morphometrical variability. The new species is distinctive by having L = 1.5–1.9 mm; a = 31–37; b = 3.5–4.25; c = 15–37; c′ = 1.4–5.5; V = 53–56; odontostyle = 22–28 μm and odontophore = 25–35 μm. It is characterized by the absence of body pores, variously shaped tail and absence of males. The characters of tail length, c, c′, rectum and pre-rectum are found to be highly variable with 17–29 per cent co-efficient of variation, as compared to other characters which are having less than 10 per cent variability.
