Abstract

Field trials were conducted with Basamid-Granular (Dazomet 98 per cent) against Meloidogyne incognita, Fusarirrm oxysporum f. lycopersici and a variety of weeds using brinjal as host plant. Results indicated that Basamid-Granular acted as a good nematicide, a weed killer but it failed to be a fungitoxicant. Correlation coefficient calculated between yield and nematode and between yield and weed populations were negative and significant. Apart from being a soil sterilant, the chemical influenced plant growth and yield because of its nutrient value.
