Abstract

Heterodera avenae affected both the trend of growth components and plant morphology of the wheat. A drastic reduction of dry weight of shoot and root was more prominent at anthesis compared to earlier stages but the reduction of leaf area and rate of leaf area expansion was more before anthesis. There was no effect on the plant morphology. A linear relationship was observed between the absorbed incident radiation and dry matter produced or growth efficiency at different nematode inoculum levels.
