In-planta studies were carried out to investigate effect of Azotobacter chroococcum inoculation on root invasion and reproductive potential of Meloidogynejavanica. The results indicated that A. chroococcum affected their development and multiplication in the host plaht. Azotobacter inoculation was partially responsible for increased plant growth in brinjal by alleviating, to some extent, the damaging effect of root-knot nematode.
