Abstract

A field study was conducted to evaluate the influence of organic farming in comparison with the conventional farming on growth and yield of carrot infested with the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne hapla. Organic treatment was most effective in improving plant growth and yield. It also provided maximum reduction in nematode population both in soil and root. Organic farming system is highly incompatible with the conventional chemical methods of farming.
