Abstract

The experiment was carried out for two years during the kharif seasons of 2003 and 2004 to study the efficacy of Paecilomyces lilacinus, carbosulfan (as seed treatment), poultry manure and FYM alone and in combination in the management of Meloidogyne incognita on okra. Maximum increase in growth parameters viz., plant height, root length, fresh and dry weight of shoot and root including yield and decrease in number of galls, eggmasses per root system and final nematode population in soil was observed in the combined treatment with P. lilacinus @ 4g/kg soil, carbosulfan, 25 EC @ 0.2%, poultry manure @ 2.5 t/ha and FYM @ 2.5 t/ha. All the treatments were found to be significantly different from the control in increasing growth parameters and reducing in nematode population in soil.
