Abstract

The population dynamics of the four plant parasitic nematodes viz., Hirschmanniella gracilis, Hoplolaimus seinhorsti, Scutellonema sp. and Helicotylenchus dihystera was studied in different paddy- based cropping sequences. Population of plant parasitic nematodes increased in paddy- paddy cropping sequence compared to other cropping sequences. Paddy - fallow cropping sequence reduced the nematode populations. The nematode populations were maintained during paddy-blackgram and paddy greengram cropping sequences. Rainfall, number of rainy days and relative humidity had no profound influence on nematode populations.
