A new species Discocriconemella waitha from Manipur with redescription and male report of Discocriconemella spermata Mohilal and Dhanachand, 1998

Abstract

Discocriconemella spermata Mohilal & Dhanachand, 1998 from Manipur, is redescribed and illustrated from different localities of Manipur. Male specimens are reported for the first time. Male of D. spermata is characterized by having convex conoid lip, fine annulation at the anterior but coarse at posterior region and tail tapers to narrow with irregular terminus. One new species, Discocriconemella waitha encountered from the rhizosphere region of Citrus limon (L) is also reported. It is characterized by having long body, frequent anastomoses and labial disc smaller than the succeeding body annuli. Juvenile similar to females but tail conoid.
