An in-vitro study conducted on mass multiplication of an egg parasitic fungus, Paecilomyces lilacinus showed that the fungus multiplied best on crushed grains of wheat among cereals, neem leaves among plant leaves and rice bran among agricultural wastes tried. The fungus could survive for 6 months under natural conditions and 12 months when stored in laboratory in soil or calcium carbonate or charcoal at temperatures ranging between-20 to 25° C but its viability was hampered at 40°C.
