Abstract

Investigation for criconematid nematodes associated with cultivated and forest plants in Manipur yielded three species, of which two are new to science. Of the new species one belongs to the genus Criconemella while the other belongs to Hemicriconemoides. Criconemella koubrua sp.n. differs from its closely related species S. annulatiformis & S. vernus in the number of annules, stylet length, size and shape of body and tail. Hemicriconemoides bishnupurus sp.n. is distinguished from its closely related H. gaddi and H. mangiferae in body size, total body annules, position of vulval opening, stylet length and tail shape. The morphological details of another known species Hemicriconemoides cocophillus are provided.
