A glasshouse experiment was carried out to study the interaction of Meloidogyne incognita and Macrophomina phaseolina on medicinal coleus, Coleus forskohlii. The nematode multiplication was adversely affected when fungus was inoculated prior to nematode. Simultaneous inoculation of nematode and fungus as well as nematode followed by fungus 15 days later caused 100 per cent root rot disease. The minimum reduction in plant growth was observed in the treatments which received fungus alone or fungus inoculation prior to nematode.
