Abstract

Seven 1-phenylethylidenemalononitrile derivates (la- VIla) were screened for nematicidal potential against Caenorhabditis aureus and Ditylenchus myceliophagus by aqueous in vitro technique at various concentrations. Compound lIa inflicted absolute mortality against both the test nematodes whereas, compounds la and Va induced absolute mortality against C. aureus and D. myceliophagus respectively at 2000 ppm after 96 h exposure. The comopund lIa has also been found to be quite effective against the test nematodes at lower concentrations.
