An Analysis of Phytonematode Associated With Almond in Balochistan, Pakistan
Abstract
A survey of phytonematodes associated with almond was conducted encompassing 12 localities in Balochistan province. In all nine nematode species included in seven genera were recorded from the rhizosphere of almond. The most dominant species were Meloidogyne javanica and Helicolylenchus digonicus. Species diversity (H’) was highest in Ornach and lowest in four localities where only one species was recorded. The soils associated with the almond orchards are mostly coarse textured, alkaline and with low water holding capacity.
