First Report of Mylonchulus sigmaturellus Mulvey, 1961 (Nematoda: Mononchida) From India

Mylonchulus sigmaturellus is reported for the first time from India. The species was collected in the district South 24-Parganas, West Bengal, India from a mango (Mangifera indica L.) orchard. Five females and eight juveniles were collected but no male was found. The present species is characterized by medium-sized body (L=1.7–1.8 mm); buccal cavity of mylonchuloid type (measuring 25.4–26.6 X 17.5–18.6 m) large dorsal tooth, occupying more than 80% of the total buccal cavity length, opposed by 68 transverse rows of denticles; gonad amphidelphic, single specimen with single posterior intra- uterine egg (measured as: 115.2 X 53.9 m); tail one anal diameter long, arcuate shaped, with terminal digitate end, three caudal glands and terminal spinneret present.
