Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchus reniformis has been often observed together on cowpea roots, therefore it is important to study their effect on growth and interaction involved between them at various population combinations. The number of galls for M. incognita and number of females counts for R. reniformis were taken as criteria for their multiplication. The soil population of both the nematodes were also observed. The interaction studies were carried out by laying three sets of experiments. In first experiment both the nematode populations were kept at different ratio. In second set, the nematodes populations were kept constant and other varied. In third set, the nematodes of one species were inoculated one and two week earlier from the second one. Interaction between reniform and root-knot nematode in the present investigaton depend on initial density and also mutually suppressive when inoculated concomitantly.
