Efficacy of Acetone Extracts of Tagetes Species on Egg Hatching and Larval Mortality of Meloidogyne incognita

Abstract

Acetone extracts of leaf, flower, root and stem of five different varieties of Tagetes viz., Tagetes patula, T. erecta c.v. Atlantis orange, Terecta c.v. single orange, T erecta c.v. Indian Yellow and Tagetes minuta were tested against egg hatching and mortality of second stage juveniles of Meloidogyne incognita. Among the plant parts, flower extract of T erecta c. v. Indian Yellow was found to be highly effective in causing mortality of juveniles and inhibition of egg hatching followed by root extracts.
