The alcoholic extracts of some medicinal plants Parkia javanica, Adhatoda vesica, Andrographis paniculata, Melothria purpusilla and Jusminum multiflorum were tested as seed soaking on soybean in a pot experiment. The seeds were soaked in 100 ppm concentration for 24 h and dried in sunlight and seeding was done in sterilized soil. After proper inoculation of J2s of Meloidogyne incognita observations taken 75 days after inoculation showed that plants treated with ethanol extracts of J. multiflorum resulted in improved plant growth rate and reduction in disease incidence when compared with other treated plants. Alcoholic extracts of P. javanica was found least effective when compared with untreated but inoculated one.
