Abstract

Survey for naturally occurring entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) from different habitats was undertaken in three different agro-climatic regions of Assam. Out of 100 soil samples, 5 samples were positive (5%) for EPNs-one from Upper Brahmaputra valley zone, two from Barak valley zone and two from hill zone. These EPNs were identified on the basis of morphological and morphometrical characters, and belonged to genus Steinernema. The strains were identified as Steinernema abbasi, S.ceratophorum and S. tami.
