Crude chitin, chitosan and chitosan gel were used for the management of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita when soil was amended with these natural bio-polymers. Chitosan was most effective in reducing hatchability of eggs, causing increased mortality of juveniles and also all three treatments were quite effective-reducing gall formation, final nematode population in the soil and increasing the plant growth characters.
